    Unscrew the bottom deck cover. Immediately unplug the main XT30 or XT60 battery power connector.     Cut Off OEM Bullet Connectors & Strip Insulation

    Use flush cutters to cut off the factory bullet connectors roughly 10mm past the charred region. Strip approximately 4mm to 5mm of the silicone insulation using your wire stripper. Ensure you do not cut or shear any individual copper micro-strands. Twist the exposed strands tightly clockwise.

    Pre-Tin the Wires and MR60 Terminals

    Set your soldering iron to 375°C (700°F). Apply a small dab of flux paste to the exposed copper strands. Touch the chisel tip with fresh solder to the wire and allow capillary action to draw molten solder fully into the strands until saturated silver. Next, touch the solder tip to the cup of the Amass MR60 pin and fill each half-cup with a small reservoir of solder.

    Solder Phase Wires to MR60 Connector

    Slide your heat shrink tubing over the wires before soldering. Mate a sacrificial opposite-gender MR60 plug to your working plug (this acts as a heat sink to prevent the gold pins from shifting in the nylon housing). Heat the cup until the solder liquefies, insert the tinned wire, and remove the iron. Hold the wire completely motionless for 3 seconds until the joint solidifies with a mirror-shiny finish.

    Snap the protective plastic back-cover onto the MR60 housing, or slide dual-wall adhesive shrink tubing over the joints and heat with a heat gun until melted glue oozes from the ends. Plug the male and female MR60 connectors together matching phase colors (Yellow-Yellow, Blue-Blue, Brown/Green-Green). Perform a multimeter continuity check between adjacent pins to guarantee zero bridging shorts.

When soldering heavy gauge wires to MR60 or XT60 terminals, always plug a spare male/female connector into the connector you are soldering. Testing and Pre-Ride Diagnostic Verification

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do OEM Ninebot Max bullet connectors melt in the first place?
Factory bullet connectors rely on loose spring-contact tension. When commuting up hills or accelerating with custom firmware, current spikes (30A+) cause micro-arcing across loose contact points. This generates resistive heat (P = I²R), which degrades spring tension further in a runaway thermal cycle until the plastic sleeve melts completely.
Can I swap the order of the three phase wires when soldering?
Motor phase wires carry 3-phase alternating signals. If you swap any two phase wires (e.g. swap Blue and Yellow), the motor will spin in reverse or shudder loudly. Always solder the corresponding colors matching your controller schematic (Yellow to Yellow, Blue to Blue, Green/Brown to Green/Brown).
Why do I need a 60W+ soldering iron instead of a cheap 25W pencil iron?
Thick 14 AWG and 12 AWG multi-strand copper cables have enormous thermal mass and act as heat sinks. A low-power 25W iron cannot heat the wire fast enough, resulting in "cold solder joints" (dull, grainy connections with high resistance that will fail under heavy current).
